HEIDI KRUEGER
BUSINESS VALUE & EXIT PLANNING
Heidi is a North Idaho business advisor, speaker, and former logging business owner with more than 20 years of experience in the forest products industry. Having managed a family-owned logging and road-building company, she understands firsthand the challenges facing today’s timber businesses—from changing markets and workforce issues to succession, retirement, and planning for the future.
Now speaking on behalf of Heidi Krueger & Co., Heidi will take an even deeper look at business valuation, exit planning, and related strategies that can help logging and forest industry business owners better understand the value of what they’ve built and prepare for what comes next.
Her practical, story-driven approach combines real-world logging experience with a focus on helping business owners protect the companies they have spent a lifetime building.
TERRY LASHER
VIRGINIA STATE FORESTER
Terry serves as State Forester for the Virginia Department of Forestry, where he leads the agency’s work to protect and develop healthy, sustainable forest resources across the Commonwealth. He brings more than two decades of experience with the department, having served in a wide range of forestry and leadership roles before later leading the Virginia Forestry Association.
With a background spanning forestry, emergency response, association leadership, and service to Virginia’s forest landowners and businesses, Terry brings a valuable perspective on the issues and opportunities facing the forest industry today.
GLENN NUNZIATA
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Glenn serves as Chief Executive Officer of Enviva, LLC and is a member of the company’s Board of Managers. He leads a global team of more than 1,300 associates working to deliver wood-based renewable energy solutions. Glenn joined Enviva as Chief Financial Officer in 2023 before being appointed CEO in December 2024.
Prior to joining Enviva, Glenn served as CFO of Smithfield Foods and spent 19 years with EY, most recently as a Partner. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting from James Madison University.
JOHN CROCKETT
DEPUTY CHIEF of STATE, PRIVATE, & TRIBAL FORESTRY
John serves as the Deputy Chief of State, Private and Tribal Forestry and the Deputy Chief for the National Forest System for the USDA Forest Service. In these senior leadership roles, he provides strategic direction, supports national policy development, and ensures coordination across key programs and partnerships that advance the agency’s mission. John is known for his steady leadership, sound judgment, and his ability to guide complex initiatives at the national level.
Throughout his tenure with the Forest Service, John has held leadership positions across multiple deputy areas and at every level of the organization. He played an instrumental role in implementing the Agency’s Active Management Strategy, with a goal to increase timber volume output by 25% each year until 2028.
A native of rural Alabama, John earned a degree in Forest Management from Alabama A&M University in 1998. His longstanding connection to natural resources continues to shape both his professional commitment and personal interests. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children, particularly through travel and outdoor activities.
STEVE BULLARD
ASSOCIATE DEAN, COLLEGE of FOREST RESOURCES
Steve serves as Associate Dean of the College of Forest Resources and Associate Director of the Forest and Wildlife Research Center at Mississippi State University. During his career, he has held numerous academic and administrative leadership positions, including department head, dean, vice president, university provost, and president of the National Association of University Forest Resources Programs.
With advanced degrees in forestry and forest management economics, Steve has taught forest economics, authored numerous publications and two books, and received Mississippi State University’s highest teaching honor, the Grisham Master Teacher Award.
SHAWN BAKER, Ph.D.
VICE PRESIDENT OF RESEARCH
Shawn serves as Vice President of Research at Forisk Consulting, where he leads the company’s research portfolio and manages the Forisk Research Quarterly (FRQ). His work includes forest operations research across the U.S. and Canada, delivered wood cost projections, and custom timber market studies, bringing data and market intelligence directly to the issues affecting today’s forest industry.
With more than 15 years of forestry and operations research experience, Shawn previously conducted forest operations research at the University of Georgia’s Center for Forest Business and has worked with organizations including Virginia Tech, the U.S. Forest Service, Virginia Department of Forestry, Mead Paper Company, and Stone Container.
An award-winning researcher and frequent presenter at forest industry conferences, Shawn also serves on the Forest Resources Association Board of Directors. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in forestry from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.
STEVE SETLIFF
PARTNER
Steve is a Partner at Setliff Law, P.C. and a nationally recognized trial attorney with extensive experience representing businesses in the transportation industry. His practice has a particular focus on trucking companies, insurers, and drivers, covering everything from accident investigations and catastrophic injury claims to commercial agreements, independent contractor matters, workers’ compensation, and employment issues.
Steve also has significant experience representing railroads in casualty, property damage, workplace injury, and employment matters, giving him a broad perspective on the legal and operational challenges facing transportation-based businesses.

STEPHANIE FULLER JOHNSON
DIRECTOR of PROMOTIONS & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Stephanie serves as Director of Promotions and Economic Development for the Forest Workforce Training Institute, where she leads marketing for ForestryWorks®, supports workforce and economic development research, and helps expand forestry career programming across the country. She is also the author of the Tiny Timber Crew children’s book series, which introduces young readers to logging, tree farming, and sawmilling.
A fourth-generation member of a logging family from Alabama, Stephanie has been involved with the Alabama Loggers Council and Piedmont District Log-A-Load for Kids throughout her life.
JOHNNY THOMPSON
PRESIDENT
Johnny is President of LandMark Spatial Solutions, LLC and has worked with spatial and forest technology applications since 1992. Through a network of more than 40 vendor partners, he helps forestry professionals use technology to improve accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism in their operations.
During his session, “Technology Applications for Wood Dealers and Loggers,” Johnny will share practical ways technology can support today’s logging and wood products businesses.
